  • As of this 9:00am ET on Monday, October 21, there were  over 150 filtered severe weather reports sent to SPC. This makes Sunday, October 20 (8 AM Sun – 8 AM Mon) the most active 24 hour period for severe weather since August 22nd-23rd.
  • There were 12 confirmed tornadoes October 20th-21st:

    • EF3 – Las Colinas to Richardson (Dallas Co.)
    • EF1 – Rowlett (Dallas Co.)
    • EF0 – Willis Point (Van Zandt Co.)
    • EF0 – Beckville (Panola Co.)
    • Missouri
    • EF1 – Wilsons Creek Battlefield
    • EF1 – Highlandville/ Sparta (Christian Co.)
    • EF1 – Linden (Christian Co.)
    • Louisiana
    • EF1 – Greenwood (Caddo Parish)
    • Arkansas 
    • EF1 – Tyronza (Poinsett Co.)
    • Tennessee
    • EF1 – Memphis (Shelby Co.) 
  • Amarillo, TX recorded 2.6″ of snow on Thursday, October 24th. It was the snowiest October day since 2011 (where 3.1″ fell) and was the 6th earliest date for their first measurable snow, and the earliest in 23 years.  
  • Also on Thursday, October 24th, the Kincade Fire in California spread over 6,000 acres in 3 hours.
