Although the usual springtime weather occurred this week, there are still parts of the country that are dealing with crazy snow amounts! Check out the most noteworthy weather facts of the week below.
- During storms on Sunday, March 24, north Texas got a lot of hail. The largest hail reported measured 4.5″, which is the size of a grapefruit!
- Monday, March 25 marked the 71st anniversary of the nation’s first tornado warning issued. It was at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma by Air Force Captain Robert C. Miller and Major Ernest J. Fawbush.
- On Tuesday, March 26, Caribou, ME hit it’s second longest streak with at least 34” of snow depth. The streak as of the 26th was 42 days with this snow depth, only behind the 61 day streak set in 1977.
