  1. im winter storm gregory,wow thats my brothers name and that storm got him as excited as i was even though we didnnt get snow until winter storm helena showed up in north carolina

  3. I’m winter storm Gregory? Eww, I’m a woman named Gregory LOL! My two cents: naming storms is silly, but if you’re going to do it, then don’t pick such absurd and stupid names.

  4. Pretty accurate, it sais I liked to observ and share info, I was Skywarn Net Control the day that Joplin got hit a few years ago.

  7. I am Helena, I like that. I think its a little fun to name the storms, as long as we are going thru them anyways.

  8. none of the answers were really how I would have answered. like I’ve only heard of 2 of the songs. So this didn’t work for me. to the real question, naming winter storms is a good idea, naming might make people wake up and notice bad weather coming, since most don’t pay attention to anything except their Facebook page and TV reality shows.

  20. Don’t understand the need to name winter storms! A major storm in DC/MD is different than a storm in New England or Rockies…

    1. yes as the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center doesn’t name summer and winter storms

    2. Pretty soon they’ll be naming every garden variety storm on the planet..The whole naming thing is completely ridiculous….
