      1. How long will the dry air in Atlantic be there?

      Hi Matthew,

July is typically an active month for the Saharan Air Layer (the SAL), but moving into August conditions usually become more favorable over the tropical Atlantic as the vertical wind shear decreases. We will have to watch closely in the coming weeks for changes in the upper level winds!
