There were a line of thunderstorms which crossed over the state from the northwest late yesterday leaving 0.62″ of rain in my gauge. Severe TS warnings were issued well into the storm and by that time we could determine that for ourselves. A weak tornado was even confirmed just east of New Lothrop shortly after 9 PM and that was about the time that we got it here. There was heavy rain, pea sized hail, strong winds and plenty of lightning to go with it. I sat out watching the storm approach for about half an hour until the thunder got quite close. That’s something that I love to do but don’t get many chances to do it since we get very few storms here where I live. Today is wonderful with cooler temps and plenty of sun. We were looking forward to a lovely weekend but now we are told that Saturday night may bring rain thanks to Hurricane Dorian. I’m wishing that she would do an about face and head back out into the Atlantic, and I’m sure the folks in Florida feel the same way. But will be will be.
