Spring starts with the Vernal Equinox, three weeks away. We are still in Winter. You are just confusing people by claiming it’s spring. I was born in Winter in March.

  • Actually you and The Weather Channel are right. Meteorological seasons are a little bit different than the seasons every day people use.

    The meteorological seasons are

Winter lasts from December 1st to February 28/29th

Spring lasts from March 1st to May 31st

Summer lasts from June 1st to August 31th

Fall or Autumn lasts from September 1st to November 30th

    The traditional seasons are

Winter lasts from around December 21st to around March 21st

Spring lasts from around March 21st to around June 21st

Summer lasts from around June 21st to around September 21st

Winter lasts from around September 21st to around December 21st

Hopefully that explains it for you.

    Your friend,

    Ben

I go by the meteorological seasons myself.  It just makes more sense.  This explains it quite well:
