We have yet another storm knocking on our door, but this time it should be snow, not ice.  It is expected to begin tonight and last through most of tomorrow.  The winter weather advisory is from midnight tonight until noon tomorrow.  Snow amounts are expected to be around 3-6 inches.  That’s much better than ice. Our morning is beginning with mostly cloudy skies but we are supposed to see quite a bit of sun today.  Hopefully that will rid us of some of this ice on our deck, even though the highs are only supposed to reach the upper 20s.  We continue to have about 50% ice cover on the ground.

Our 8:45 AM temperature is 19°F (-7°C), the humidity is 75%, and winds are from the east at 4 mph.  The wind chill is 15°F (-9°C) and skies are mostly cloudy.  The pressure is 30.53 in (1033.9 mb) and steady, and the dew point is 10°F (-12°C).  Visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 34°F (1°C) and the overnight low was 18°F (-8°C).  Averages for this date are 28°F / 16°F.

      DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:

Today:  Mostly sunny,  high 29°F.  Winds E at around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight:  Snow mainly after 10 pm.  Low 25°F.  Wind SE at 6-15 mph.  Snow accumulation of around 3 inches.  Chance of snow 100%.

Saturday:  Snow becoming mixed with rain in the afternoon.  High 38°F.  Winds SE 14-18 mph, turning to the west in the afternoon. Wind gusts up to 30 mph.  New snow accumulations of 3-4 inches.  Chance of snow 100%.

Saturday Night:  Snow continuing until about 1 am.  Winds 18-22 mph, gusting to 36 mph.  Low 20°F.  Chance of precip 40%.
