The photo of Mount Rainier located at Mount Rainier National Park just south of Seattle, Washington, was taken during an unusual heat wave with a high of 92 on Sunday, June 5, 2016. The temperature at the base of Mount Rainier was around 91 degrees with some snow melt taking place. It is noted on the Mount Rainier National Park web site, "Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning six major rivers. Subalpine wildflower meadows ring the icy volcano while ancient forest cloaks Mount Rainier’s lower slopes. Wildlife abounds in the park’s ecosystems. A lifetime of discovery awaits." Additionally, Happy 100th Birthday to the USA's National Park Service!

GORGEOUS!!! I remember that heat wave, as my poor friend up there was suffering. He said temps that hot are unusual for that part of the country, even in summer.
Cool, I just love that part of the country!!!!
I do too even though I’ve never been there, LOL. I think it’s because of the TV show “Frasier.” 🙂
I like how green and wet it is. They get a lot of rain while we are parched here. 🙁
